The Lacuna Story

Hi! I'm Kate, the founder of Lacuna Consulting LLC. I've been deeply involved in Colorado's Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) system since 2008. Over the years, I've had the privilege of managing a variety of programs, ranging from day services to employment initiatives, as well as respite and residential support and served in many roles including Direct Support Professional, Program Director, Host Home Provider, Clinical Director, Board President, and Executive Director of Organizational Strategy.

My work has always been driven by a passion for making a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families impacted by various disabilities.

In 2017, I began consulting with the goal of helping others who share my passion for serving in the IDD field. At Lacuna Consulting, I strive to empower professionals and agencies to develop and expand creative, essential services that meet the diverse needs of our community. My goal is to increase access to support for individuals with disabilities and their families. 

Colorado is home to many incredible agencies dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities. Yet, despite these efforts, significant gaps in services remain. At Lacuna Consulting, we bridge these gaps by partnering with agencies to expand their impact and better serve our friends and neighbors in need.

Our mission is twofold: to guide newcomers to the field and to help established organizations innovate and enhance their services.
